They have more need of masters . . .

Many folks are complaining about the caliber of the various presidential candidates from which they have the opportunity to choose. I’m of the opinion that not a one of them is worth spit. I do not consent and I certainly will not be voting for ANY of them.

But as I reflected a bit more upon these folks who are battling one another to wield the power of the Amerikan Empire, my thoughts turned to the words of some of those who are counted as being among the “Founding Fathers.”

In 1789, John Adams remarked: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

In 1797, George Washington asserted: ““Religion and morality are the essential pillars of civil society.”

And in 1787, Benjamin Franklin noted: “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

Then I realized that America has leaders that reflect the lost virtue and morality of the American people.

America has precisely the leaders it deserves.

America has been given “masters” because she has become corrupt and vicious.

We have such immoral and unworthy leaders, for we have become an immoral and unworthy people.

So find the answer in these words: "Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee."

Ask not why we have such immoral and irreligious leaders, rather how have we become such an immoral and irreligious people.

Isa. 3:4-5
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.  (5)  And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

Deo Vindice!
