You’ll not find any striped rag here . . .

Some folks find it odd -- even disturbing -- that we do not display the flag of the United States of America in our church meeting house or at the meetings of Free Florida First.

The US flag, as originally conceived and utilized, did indeed stand for those laudable things set forth in the Declaration of Independence: the right of secession; consent of the governed; unalienable rights, endowed by the Creator; etc. It stood for a Confederation of Sovereign States, who cooperated to throw off the political chains of a distant and tyrannical government.

But since the seceding Southern states were invaded by US forces, the US flag has ceased to stand for any of these things. Indeed, it has come to stand for an “indivisible” nation (in the words of the socialist author of the “Pledge of Allegiance”). Such a concept flies in the face of those things that were fought for by our revolutionary forebears.

The US flag stands for an unbridled Amerikan Empire that seeks to impose its will upon the world at large, both at home and abroad. It now stands for the exact opposite of those things set forth in the Declaration of Independence. It is a flag of empire; a flag of tyranny; a flag of sodomy; a flag of abortion; a flag of suppression of individual God-given rights; etc.

We choose rather to display the flag that was patterned upon the Christian symbol of the first disciple, Andrew, a man who died a martyr’s death at the hands of a tyrannical and repressive government.

The Confederate Battle Flag, bearing the cross of Saint Andrew, was born as a symbol of resistance to tyranny and it remains such today. This is the real reason that it is so hated and reviled; and this is the reason that we continue to display it. No one should question our stand against tyranny whether it comes from Babylon on the Potomac (Washington, DC) or from any other source.

We desire only to be left alone to pursue our lives as free Christian men and women; and we stand firmly against any who would seek to prevent us from doing so.

Numbers 2:2-3a 

Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch. And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies . . .

We shall pitch our standard and fly the ensign of our fathers. So help us God!
